How we rank explains how these product lists are ordered.

Dental cabinets are the casework in the treatment room and in the sterilization center. Those are different rooms. A treatment cabinet holds storage beside the chair. A sterilization center has to move instruments from dirty to clean. The instrument washer and the sterilizer have to fit that second run. The delivery system is the unit at the chair, not the cabinet behind it.

How to choose dental cabinets

  • Name the room first. Treatment cabinets and a sterilization center solve different problems. A row of uppers in the operatory does not give you a dirty side and a clean side.
  • Footprints before the door sample. Measure the washer, the ultrasonic, and the sterilizer, including the door swing and the space a technician needs behind them. Then draw the cabinets. A finish sample does not change a cutout that is too short.
  • Fixed casework versus a run you can change. A sterilization center that is one welded piece is harder to reopen when the next washer is taller. Ask what the dealer can move later.
  • Sinks and the clean side. The soiled sink belongs on the dirty side. The clean counter should not share that splash. Solid surface at the sink outlasts a laminate seam next to water.
  • Who stocks the slides. Cabinets outlast the chair. The dealer who can replace drawer slides and hinges matters more than the door color.

How common cabinet lines differ

Treat the table as product differences, not a score. The drawing has to show the machines, not only the doors.

Dental cabinets differ by whether the run is a treatment room or a sterilization center, and by which machines have to fit inside it.

A-dec

A-dec cabinetry is the default when the chair, the light, and the delivery are already A-dec. The sterilization center is a separate layout from the treatment uppers. Bring the washer model and the sterilizer model to that drawing. A bay sized for a short cassette sterilizer will not take a tall washer.

Midmark

Midmark sells cabinetry with its chairs and often with its sterilizers. That package is convenient, and it is also how a cabinet gets ordered for “the Midmark sterilizer” without anyone checking the M9 against the M11. Those two chambers do not need the same opening. The drawing should name the model.

Pelton & Crane

Pelton & Crane is the cabinet quote offices use when they do not want the chair brand’s casework by default. Compare box depth, sink location, and whether the sterilization run is part of the quote or only the treatment room. Finish samples are the last decision, after the machines fit.

DentalEZ

DentalEZ cabinets follow DentalEZ chairs the way their compressors and vacuums follow the mechanical room. Staying with one dealer is a real reason. It is not a reason to size the clean counter around a chair color. The washer, the ultrasonic, and the sterilizer still set the length of that wall.

Cabinet questions

Can the sterilizer sit in a treatment cabinet?

It can, and then dirty and clean instruments share the room with the patient. A separate sterilization center is the reason for the second run of cabinets.

Do the cabinets include the washer?

No. The cabinet is the opening. The washer and the sterilizer are their own machines, and they have to be on the drawing before the doors are ordered.
