About us
Dr. Suman Gorantla grew up in South India and graduated dental school with degrees in General Dentistry and Orthodontics. He was ranked first for the All India Post Graduate Dental Admissions Test and practiced in India for two years. When Dr. Gorantla came to America, he attended dental school for the second time! He earned his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from Boston University , his Master of Dental Science in Orthodontics from the University of Pittsburgh , and his Master of Public Health at East Tennessee State University . He received the “Compassionate Doctor” award while completing his General Practice Residency at St. Barnabas Hospital and is a past president of the Wichita District Dental Society.
Dr. Gorantla’s passion for orthodontics started when he was in dental school and followed his cousin, who was in his orthodontic residency. He saw firsthand what orthodontics can do to put smiles on the faces of young kids, and has made it his life goal to make a difference in kids’ lives. He really enjoys interacting with patients and families. Dr. Gorantla loves his team and enjoys coming to work. Dr. Gorantla and the team at Smiles Ortho work very hard and are fun, welcoming and very easy to talk to.
