Dr. Pitarra first started integrating whole-body, holistic dentistry into her practice after her last pregnancy. She started cleaning up her household as far as products and considering everything we put in and on our bodies. As a result, she’s started offering a fluoride-free option for her patients who prefer that, but she still offers fluoride options as well. She also doesn’t do “limited exams” on new patients. Instead, she conducts thorough, whole-person exams that include analyzing the airway and helping her patients implement new, good habits into their lives as well as look at what it means to be “healthy” in different ways.
