Dr. Sohyun Park is a board-certified periodontist and a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the State University of New York at Buffalo and then spent an additional year in Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Lutheran Medical Center in Albany, NY. She then practiced as a general dentist for 3 years where she elaborated comprehensive dental skills. While she was working as a general dentist, she became fascinated with periodontics, so she decided to become a periodontist. She got accepted into a three-year training program in Periodontology and Dental Implants at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania and earned a Certification in Periodontics along with a Master of Dental Science degree with a research project on bone graft for implant placements. She currently serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Periodontics Department at the University of the Pacific.

Dr. Park is very excited to provide the service in the San Francisco Bay area with caring, comprehensive, evidence-based dental care. Her scope of dental care includes treating all areas in the field of periodontics, including surgical and non-surgical periodontal therapy around natural teeth, laser therapy, gum grafts, crown elongations, periodontally assisted orthodontics, implant therapy, bone, and gum graft to prepare implant therapy and treatment of disease around existing dental implants.
