Hi, I had titanium but it failed after 10 days (don’t know why). Dentist has advised if I do want to try again, he would use a titanium/zirconium mix as less likelihood of allergy or rejection. Interested if anyone else has had this advice.
Sorry to hear that you’re implant failed.
YOUR implant, that is. I did not know that zirconium implants we’re less likely to fail.
Yes, it was me that failed, not the implant. Some sort of allergy or infection, still don’t really know why but the dentist said just in case it was titanium allergy, he would try the other one if and when I go ahead again. Have to wait another 12 months or so to make the the bone graft has fully healed again. Good luck with yours!
I have 11 titanium zirconium
I haven’t had them but have been researching them. Have you found anyone that actually has them? Right now, as far as 2 piece screw in zirconia implants, it looks like Zeramax has the implant of choice and as far as 1 piece implants (implant and abutment as one piece) z-systems seems to be the zirconium implant of choice. Have you found a dentist that does them near you? I found someone on Maryland that has been doing them for over 9 years or so and may be getting an implant soon with him.
I do titanium zirconium
Hi there! I was just wondering if you found out anything new about the zirconia implants or if you had them placed.
My new implants are due 31st August so I’ll let you know how I get on!
Not yet, I am looking at ceraroot probably.
Would love to hear how it goes. Be sure to go to someone that has a great deal of experience with them.
I saw Dan Hagi for the zirconium implant – he does lots of them here in Toronto area. Went well so far. My own dentist did the extraction, bone graft and zirconium crown.
Laurel M. , I have seen Dan Hagi speak on one of those dentist websites. He has a great deal of experience and uses ceraroot primarily from what I understand. Thats great that you are able to see him. So your regular dentist did the extraction and bone graft and dr Hagi did the zirconia implant? Then your regular dentist will do the zirconium crown in the upcoming months? I saw Dr. Locante in Nashville. He did the extraction, bone graft and all zirconia strauman implant last October for my #7 tooth. I had absolutely no pain. I was rather amazed that even the extraction didn’t hurt.
He is pretty masterful. Now I’m in the healing stage for the next 4-6 months or so and then Im either going to have him or my regular dentist put the zirconium crown on. Not sure who would be best to place the crown. With the zirconia implants being rather sensitive to drilling etc I worry about just a regular dentist, not skilled with zirconia implants, placing the crown.. so I am unsure of how to proceed with that. Which tooth did you have done again and did they put your crown on already? Is there any particular brand and material of crown that they are using on your zirconia implants? Im just wondering, because with the zirconia implants being stronger than teeth and titanium if they will wear out the crown quickly or vice versa.
After I heal completely I will be getting zirconium, probably in like three or four months. I have temp implants right now while healing but my dentist said the zirconium are the best and super durable and natural looking.
Are you speaking about zirconia implants or zirconia crowns?
Gi Mary my permanent implant teeth will be zirconium. I had full implants done
Bobbie Lee M. , so your teeth are zirconium but your implants are titanium?
Gi M. yes I believe that is what the permanents will be. My abutments are titanium.
My implants are zirconium they are durable & look great went to clear choice.
Frank F. , what brand of zirconium implants did they use? Are you speaking of your implants being zirconia or are you saying that your crowns that went over the implants are zirconia?
The crowns are
Laurel M. That’s because it’s not less likely to fail. I believe Clare was talking about titanium allergy.
Thanks for the clarification, and sorry that you had that problem Clare.
implant fails due to several factors…zirconium is a crown that it depends its life span to the implant post….
