How do you all eat after extractions and implants I’m 5 days out and I’m scared I’ve only had water.

Chicken bone broth, fruit juice, V8

You need done diet of protein to aid in healing. You’re fine to eat soft foods. Yogurt, cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, oatmeal. Chicken broth.
Ice cream, smoothies, applesauce, pudding
What Kim said!
All kinds of soup – use a blender! And puréed food – mashed potatoes, very soft cauliflower cheese, mushed up cooked or raw fruit…
One thing is that is good is pouches. The kind that babies and toddlers use. All you have to do is squeeze in your mouth and swallow. Works great!!
Protein shakes
Fruit smoothies
Veg smoothies
I craved salt
Soft foods
How about a nutritionist protein shake?
Pudding, jello, mashed potatoes, pasta, Mac n cheese, apple sauce, bananas, soup, protein drinks (premier cookies n cream)
I kept protein shakes on hand. Pastina, soup, yogurt, potatoes, pudding.
You need food!
I found smoothies brilliant and you can throw whatever you want in them.
Soups, eggs, pasta
Anything that’s soft is good.
Eat soft foods soup jello pudding smoothies. It takes a while but you will heal. Blessings you will do well.

I found that if i could squish it between my thumb and forefinger, i could eat it.
Posted numerous pictures of my ” culinary adventures ” here a few years ago as suggestions and encouragement.
Start liquid and move up as gums toughen. Don’t be afraid to explore but don’t lose heart.
When this phase is over it gets better.
My process, extractions to finals took 13 months.
Now, 2 years out from finals, i find the frustrations a distant memory.
It’s worth it
David C. yes but did you have bone grafting, a sinus lift? No way I’d put any pressure on any of that.
Tina M. ,
No, i did not require bone graft or sinus lift.
I had full extraction of 23 teeth and 21 posts placed. (My posts were not level to my gum line but stuck up like sharp steel posts that my dentures were supposed to cover.)
First 2 weeks were liquids and pudding consistency foods.
After initial healing i could do mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, polenta, soups with soft things.
Nothing hot or cold…. pretty much all was room temp for a while.
By the time swelling had gone down enough to wear my dentures i was going out of my mind for something “real” to eat.
David C. 21 implants? That’s wild!😅😁
Solomon Lamb
I grew up country and learned a long stretch of fence with 4 posts will do the job but more will do it better.
I know i have no fear of eating anything
How long after implant do we need to do this?
Dot F. until stitches are gone usually.
I just gulped smoothie to get it over with for the first few days.
Soft food for the first couple days, only eat on the side without the implant
smoothies, applesauce, yogurt, sherbet, mashed potatoes, tuna fish etc.
Shakes, soup, scrambled eggs, pudding, soft food. Rinse with warm salt water after.
A blender is your best friend.
Until the numbing totally wears off and your doctor adjuts your bite, it seems scary. I’m 14 days in and I can eat more, even with stitches. Small bites and chew slowwww… try snow crab legs, scrambled egg w/cheese, mashed or baked potatoes, baked fish.. Once you understand how your bite is, you can try lasagna, pie, minced chicken, meatloaf. The first week is the scariest and even a little depressing, but I PROMISE it gets better every day.
Thank you everyone.
I didnt eat till after week 3. I don’t think that’s the norm but I was super nervous. I lived off ensure and smoothies.
Mashed potatoes. Chicken or beef tips in gravy in crock pot for 6 plus hours cubed small, easily smashed against palate. Spaghetti, hand chopper to chop hamburger up fine, soup. I started eating at all this at 3 days.
Ensure
I ate spaghetti the day after. I just cut it up really good. I ate smoothies, mashed potatoes and soups also. But i had immediate dentures on e day.
I just blend whatever im having..Im eating just fine. Just blend everything. Flavor is good and texture
I did a lot of protein type drinks. Soft foods. I stayed away from anything that had to bite down hard on.
Baby food in pouches, smoothies ( no ice!!), porridge, tofu….
Go to your dentist daily if necessary to get adjustments. I was eating steak in two weeks
Only soft foods for at least 4 months. It wasn’t until right after 2 weeks did I actually put any pressure on them. It’s a very different feeling at first. It wasn’t easy doing soft foods for long, but it’s worth it in the long run.
