Honestly, It is the best and fastest way. The empty space available from the extracted teeth just gets filled with the Implant right away. I have 1 instant Implant and I am very happy with it.
Yigit C. how long did post surgery pain last? Mine seems to be worse on day three? No horrendous but worse
It will slowly ease, usually the pain goes away on day3 I have been told but that weird feeling I am sure you know what I am talking about 🙂 will be there about 10 days
👍
Yes! It was uneventful. Much better than I expected
Would have saved me time money and pain
Yes, it was pretty straight forward. If you are a nervous patient tall to your MD/GP and see if they will prescribe you a little something to take the edge off
I never had pain, some discomfort only. Be very careful because you are never told that it dose not last forever. I had implants that had to be removed after 15 years because the bone eroded.
Dina K., I am so sorry about that.
What’s the name of the implant and did they tell you the reason the bone eroded?
Does anyone know why they don’t offer this to everyone? I would love to be put on IV sedation, extraction and implant all in one appointment.
I had a same day extraction and implant on April 19 it only took about 30 minutes. However, today is my first day without ibuprofen for pain. It’s still a bit sore though. Just saw the surgeon Wednesday no problems or infection he suggested i continue to keep it clean and rinse in salt water x2 daily.
I had 9 extractions, alveoplasty, bone grafts and 4 implants with oral sedation. It was fine.
Misty C. wow! That’s amazing! I am more confident in oral sedation now!
Sarah D J. I had Halcion. I took one about an hour before my appointment and they gave me another one when I got there. I remember very little after that….
@Misty C. I’m taking Halcion for my procedure on Monday. How long does it take for the Halcion to wear off? The office has said .25 mg times three an hour before the procedure. That seems more than most people take. I’m 5ft 130pds…I think two pills should do the trick.
Michelle C. Honestly I don’t really remember much. They had me take Valium the night before and I believe with the Halcion an hour before I went in, so 7am. I had 2 more Halcion pills tht they told me to bring with and when I got there at 8am they gave me another one. At some point they did give me the 3rd, but I have no idea what time that was. I left there at 5 and was completely out of it, so it hadn’t worn off yet.
Misty C. Thank you for your response! My procedure should just take two hours. So I wonder if I could get by just taking two. I just don’t want to be out of it the entire rest of the day. I have four little ones at home that I want to be able to interact with. You had a lot done…how was your pain during your recovery? I’m having two extractions and six cavities filled. I’m having terrible anxiety about the procedure.
Michelle C. I had zero pain. I know that is hard to believe, but completely true. I was shocked and when I told my dentist, he said that is actually quite common and even though he’s done so many of these procedures it still surprises him. A lot goes on and you would just assume post surgery pain would be normal 🤷🏻♀️ I had no bruising and minimal swelling.
Misty C. that’s awesome to hear! I hope I can say the same when I’m done. Thank you for answering all my questions. You have put my mind at ease about all this.
My oral sedation was great but it wore off. I was in pain for second half. If I were to do it over I’d do IV sedation
yes. 6 at different intervals with lidocaine fine until the lido wears off — painful.
I did yesterday and I liked to died!!!! That anesthetic does not last long. My procedure was only 3 hours and man it hurt like hell!!!! Simply because he would get started in one area and the other areas would start aching… or waking up!!!!
I did – no problem! Only pain was the needle going into the roof of my mouth. Good luck
I just had all extractions and implants done on Wednesday and only did Oral sedation. I took Halcion at 6:30am and then again at 7:30am my appt was at 8am and they gave me another pill and a liquid. My procedure was 13 hours! Half way through they woke me up and gave me another pill and a liquid. I was out like a light. The only thing I remember was the shots in the roof of my mouth at the very beginning. That was horrible. Just do the shots take a breather and go to sleep. Didnt feel a thing after that! I had minimal bruising and swelling only lasted about 3 days…im on day 6 and I feel great! My dentist took his time and did such an amazing job! Im so blessed and thankful . You wont regret it! When I was swollen and uncomfortable but never in any actual hardcore pain, I reminded myself over and over this is just temporary and the outcome is going to be sooo worth it. So far its been amazing and the best choice Ive ever made for MYSELF!
