Dr. Sean Myran, a dentist and the founder and CEO of a dental clinic, spoke about the importance of word-of-mouth marketing and the difference between word of mouth and orchestrating referrals.
He emphasized that while word of mouth is a passive method, orchestrating referrals allows for a more predictable and controlled process. He also mentioned that people refer others to a business because it raises their status in their social group and that businesses should not ask for referrals immediately after a treatment is completed, but after the patient has received the benefits of the treatment.
