I love to export into an excel spreadsheet. That way I can write notes to keep track with a visual. I still write notes in the commlog, but I love that I can export a report.
The office I work with has been utilizing a third party vendor, Teamio, to get on top of AR. Insurance AR (my job) has decreased over 66%!! I love Teamio – developed by Dr Nilay Shah (dentist) and his brother
Task list!!! Set due dates and assign to other team members if possible.
Outsource it! That’s what I had to do.
Rectangle Health can definitely help. I’d be happy to provide some more detail
Proper estimates, great financial arrangements, and collect day of service!
Change policy to collect in advance of making appointment unless they want you to run a credit check. 2. Send accounts that are older than a year to a collection agency. 3. Work those accounts: letters, phone calls, etc. Get them to pay something each month.
Thanks for the mention Michele P.!!
As stated above in the posts, reducing AR always starts with having proper insurance breakdowns and estimates in place and attached to patient’s charts.
Fee schedules need to have been entered correctly.
But things aren’t perfect. Difference in what you expect vs what the insurance pays for a procedure adds up over time quickly if there isn’t a proper system in place.
With Teamio, we’ve implemented a system in place for my practice for following up with Outstanding Claims, Pre-authorizations, and patient balances.
Whatever you see in Open Dental’s outstanding claims report – Teamio turns it into Tasks for your team to follow-up on, so they’re held accountable for following up. Subsequent follow-ups are also set up automatically depending on a follow-up status selected for a claim.
Once claims are marked as received in Open Dental, the Tasks are also removed from your Team’s dashboard and marked as received.
Monica S. D. This way we’re not exporting to excel and now there’s a trail of each follow-up for claims and patient balances – which also copies automatically into patient’s communication log.
The core of our platform is follow-ups and tasks. We bring your overdue recall, unscheduled tx lists from open dental and turn them into Tasks for your team to work on.
On one dashboard you’ll be able to what’s getting done in your practice in terms of patients being followed up with for overdue recall, unscheduled tx, broken appointments, outstanding claims etc. There’s lots more – but feel free to take a look at our website!
I think this video I made can help you! https://fb.watch/4gYEq-pd6J/
