How long have you had it?
Santanna I got it in February
Oh my goodness!!
Did ya sneeze too hard?
🥲
Oh no! How did it fail?
Romayna I don’t know, the bone never grew around it?
Where was the work done?
Tonya, Idaho
Tonya M. why does it matter I had one of my 14 implants fail its not the Dr’s fault.
J B. Lasby it matters brother bc I’m curious as I’m getting my done at the end is the month at Affordable Dentures. This is the type of stuff that I need to know about; failing implants. So if you don’t mind that’s why I’m asking and that’s y it matters to know which Dental Facility was used. Have a nice day.
Tonya M. I have heard a lot of good about Affordable Dentures they have very good ratings.
J B. Lasby their front desk gets lots of bad reviews though. Especially the one in Atlanta.
Merve A. I can relate as the front desk and the hygienists at the facility I chose to go with are piss poor and do not communicate for beans but my Drs are top notch and have done a great job. I researched the team of Dr’s that would be doing the work and they are the top in their field here in my area. Just wish they would place higher standards on their help.
Merve A. so long as it’s not the Dentist with the bad reviews. A lot of the front desk workers seems to be uptight for no good reason. A simple and pleasant greeting would make the initial visit so much more comfortable. LoL
J Bradley thank you, I need four implants total because I was born with those teeth missing. I got two implants a week apart, one took and the other one is this
That terrible
Did your Doctor use guided surgery or just “free-hand” it? We do guided surgery services for this reason, to prevent failures. Always request guided surgery when you get an implant placed.
DDS Labs not sure what guided surgery is, I do know he took ex rays beforehand however I suppose it was free handed because there was no machine during surgery
Tonya Bell K. guided surgeries involve a CBCT scan(3D X-ray) to virtually plan the implant at the ideal location based on bone density/prosthetic requirements and various other critical factors. We 3D print a guide for the doctor to use during the surgery to ensure the implant is placed to as close as 100 microns(~thickness of a human hair) of where it as planned. This service is a low cost to the doctor but is invaluable for the patient chance of success.
DDS Labs I believe he did use a special X-ray machine 🤷🏻♀️
do you smoke?
Nina R. no
OMG – have had my five implants for 9 years and not one problem. Thank you ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers
Oh shitt
So tiny
I feel for you. sending a hug.x
That’s why you need to find a reliable dental. Any place these days say they can do it.
Where is the crown?
Kevin C. I never got the crown I was waiting for the post to heal
Also what tooth?
I am so sorry, keep the area clean with 1/2 str Hydrogen Peroxide or warm pink salt water until you see your dentists.
That happen to me twice. So discouraging.
Oh no!! Did it hurt when it came out? I’m getting 4 lower implants tomorrow, and I’m kinda freaked out.
Megan no, didn’t hurt at all
I’m just wondering why that would happen. Did it feel loose to you?
Becky I had a checkup last week and he said it was failing. The next couple of days I felt it getting bigger and bigger (coming out of my gums) so I pulled it out
That looks like the healing cap. I got my implants in 2019 and I go this month to get my crowns. If the healing cap isn’t tight it’ll fall out.
Usually they guarantee it. See about getting a bone graft when he replaces it. I’m also in Idaho. My surgeon guarantees his implants, I hope yours does as well.
Cindy I’m going to see about a bone graft
Cindy Curtis T. you hit the nail on th me head. MOST, not all reputable Surgeons will tend to do the following, but certainly not all:
1) warranty the implants used. If having a 98%success rate or higher, you are working with a very good implant company and not a fly by night rinky-dink company. These standard ‘brand’ national level implants companies do indeed warranty their products. If a Dentist or dental lab is experiencing a very high failure rate, then it would be hard for them to offer a warranty and still stay in business
2) most surgeons will require some patient responsibility to honor any warranty-showing up for annual (at least) check ups or hygiene visits, limit or give up smoking (1/2 a pack/day for us is ‘acceptable’ or tolerated)
3) Follow Post Op Instructions when appropriate
4) Use of a bite guard if recommended…
Folks, just a few things to think about…
Im sorry for you. This has happened to me too. You can have it redone tho.
How did it failure?are you smoker?
