You taste with your tongue, not your teeth, so there shouldn’t be any noticeable change to speak of.

I assume if you’ve had temporaries you should be able to tell me if there’s a difference I haven’t had them so I don’t know

Kathryn Grace P. you have receptors in the roof of your mouth as well and having a full denture does effect the taste of everything.
J B. Lasby I’ve not noticed any difference in taste, only a lack of sensation to hot or cold. Everything tastes as it should. With an all on four the roof of your mouth is not covered.
Joseph L. I guess with a full denture there is a difference, or so I’m told, but I wouldn’t know. I have an all on four and the roof of my mouth is still exposed, I’ve not noticed any differences at all in taste.
My bad, I missed that he was asking about traditional dentures, being an implant group I just assumed he meant an all on four or something similar.
Kathryn Grace P. when getting snap in denture your temporary is a regular denture
Robin G. ahhhh, I did not know that. ✌🏻
It’s weird and takes getting used to.
I’m week 5 with my temporary denture! Eating is a whole new experience, I’m managing to eat a bit more now but don’t enjoy food the same x
Sharon D.
I have a temporary denture and my taste has gone.
Teresa G. I still have some taste, but not as good as it was without the denture x
I don’t have a problem with tasting food
Why would some not feel the hot and cold of food after getting implants or dentures?
I am 4 weeks post op and I have temp
arches and it is different to chew but food has intense flavor to me in a good way.
The same
I’m 7 months in with my temps, I cannot wait for the permanents! Mine are now locked into place with my implants, which makes chewing a lot better, but I do feel that they do ruin the sensation of eating some items. I cannot bite into stuff, so everything has to be cut up or torn apart to eat, it’s just not the same!
I ate with my temps from day one. I still have them now because the teeth they are getting still aren’t right and my dentist isn’t happy with them like I’m not. I’ve just got used to them and eat like they’re my own. The good thing is I’m growing my nails now as I can’t bite them as my teeth aren’t sharp enough 😂
