Hello, founder of Modento here. Our system is deeply integrated with Open Dental. All forms, consents, treatment plans, everything can be sent to an ipad, once the patient fills it out it goes directly in the patient’s chart (no manual uploading needed) and the patient gets a copy emailed to them. Let me know if you have any questions at all. http://www.modento.com
Drew D. love it! I’ve been in dental for 30 yrs and software is always evolving this is by far the best one yet!
We use iPads for treatment plans in operatories. We have Microsoft Surface for patient sheets
Melissa Jowers S. can you share with me exactly how you use them? We are interested in doing this but I have no idea how. Thanks
Sandra J. M. you have to download eClipboard through the App Store . Contact Open Dental and they will walk you through it. We have 1 mounted at our checkout desk to review with patients upon checkout and 1 that is portable. Through the eClipboard it converts so that you can review with patient and they can sign digitally. No more scanning signed copy into chart. If you are in treatment plan module, it will mark an x under saved treatment plans reflecting it is signed. You can then print a copy for the patient.
Melissa Jowers S. Thank you so very much for giving me this information. Sounds wonderful. I’ll definitely look into it
Paty D. please see my reply below… also if anyone needs any further help I am always willing to help via phone or FaceTime to help you see it in person. I love it.
Melissa Jowers S. do you know what the monthly fee of the eClipboard is?
Paty D. it’s free
Melissa Jowers S. and Paty D. the cost of eClipboard is $45/month/location. It is part of the eServices Bundle if you have that You can find more about eClipboard on this page: https://opendental.com/site/eclipboard.html

Modento is awesome!!
I mounted one in the cabinet in the lab so we can all see the schedule and listen to the announcements. Has been amazing. It’s a Microsoft surface Pro
Paty D. how do you do announcements?
Shawn L. messaging buttons. We have then setup to Doctor and each room, hygienist, assistant, change in schedule, etc
Paty D. how are you addressing hipaa compliance?
I assuming that device doesn’t have automatic screen lock enabled. Is it in kiosk mode, with a read only user?
Sean K. yes, it’s in the lab, separate room, only employees can see it. Also in operatory view so no patient names are shown.
Wendy that’s the answer you’ll give the OCR officer?
Huh. Good luck with that.
We use tablets (Samsung tabA) to have patients sign their forms through eservices. My limited understanding was that you can’t run the full Open Dental unless the tablet runs windows.
We use them for a patient check in, registration form, financial agreement, HIPPA acknowledgment and taking patient pictures.
Anyone have tips to get photos/x-rays on to an iPad for the patient to view? We used to use Dexis go which was great but is no longer supported.
Ryan W. when you use any windows based tablet, (Surface tablet refurbished on Ebay) you can install a full version of OD as well as your imaging software.
Connect your tablet to your office wifi.
Now you can show your patient.
NOTE:
If you update to OD newest version 20.4 or higher, this version comes with a FREE imaging software that is compatible with many digital sensors that you already have in your office.
Now all your x-rays and photos are in OD, and can be accessed on your Surface tablet
