Has anyone used a flipper in place of a hole while an implant or other work was being done? How was it? Was it worth paying the extra money for? I have questions???

Flipper or Partial should be under $700
If it’s a tooth that shows when you smile/talk very well worth it. If it’s a tooth in the back it’s an easy pass.😁
Solomon L. it’s one of the front 4.
Marissa W. I’d definitely go for it IF the partial/flipper can be made immediately otherwise your waiting without a tooth anyways and more money out of your pocket
You can just wear a Essix appliance. It works the same but is cheaper and fits better
Nikki J. I’ve never heard of those.
Marissa W. I make them at ClearChoice
We make them when a patient gets a single implant crown
Nikki J. oh okay I’ll ask about that
Nikki J. I have one just like that with one tooth. It cost $475.
I absolutely hate it! My flipper teeth are breaking down. It’s been 2 months and I’m already on my second set and about to be on my 3rd soon
Hate the way it feels but like the way it looks. Missing a tooth in the front was awful. But I’ve gotten to the point that I only put it in when I’m going to be in public. And while you can eat with it…it sucks. For me it was worth the money to be able to attend work meetings and my kids school events without keeping my mouth closed and feeling insecure the entire time.
Keely C. Do you sleep with it in? Brush your teeth? Kissing? What are the limitations?
Marissa W. you do not sleep with it in. I do brush my teeth with it in and kiss. But it still has to be cleaned with a denture solution each night. You’ll be amazed at the food that gets in it. Other than it just being annoying and not sleeping in it there really aren’t any limitations. Can’t eat anything hard because it pushes it up against your gums and kinda hurts so like I won’t eat an apple with it.
I got one and hated it, it took up my whole mouth. Ended up not wearing it, just accepted the hole for over a yr. I was missing #10, so up front. If I have to do that again I would not bother with the flipper, even if it was up front.
I had a flipper for some missing teeth that came off a bridge. I used an online company they sent me an impression kit. It was super easy and very inexpensive. Flipper lasted 2 years before I stopped using it.

Erin C. Just a word of caution to anyone considering this online company for a flipper over an implant. Part of the process of a dentist making a flipper over an implant is that the dentist will adjust it to ensure that no pressure is distributed on the gums over the implant, otherwise it could cause problems with the implants healing underneath.
Jevin C. oh mine was while I waited to afford the flipper…only wore it in public too
Jevin C. absolutely agree
I had a flipper in the front on the bottom. I hated it but it gave me the ability to not be self conscious of the missing teeth. It wasn’t uncomfortable, it just didn’t look the best. The teeth were shorter than my natural teeth but everyone said it wasn’t noticeable. I knew it was just temporary. I paid $400 for it.
I have a flipper. It is uncomfortable. You can’t eat with it in. I just got my implant and will be completed in mid August. Mine is the tooth next to my front tooth. Its #7
I threw mine out in under 24 hrs. Well spent $300.
No worth the money and you can’t eat with it either
Martha D. I had to eat with mine. Just washed it off after
Carin G. they told me I couldn’t and I got a refund , they said they are not strong enough
Martha D. it depends probably what gaps they’re filling. I didn’t “chew” with them, but couldn’t function without them.
Carin G. I had my whole left side removed and 2 missing on right side
Omg if in front no question. I wore one for nearly a year and otherwise wouldn’t have shown my face.
A flipper is typically suggested only as a temporary solution.
I have one. Dont love wearing it, but it’s the only thing that allows me to smile without feeling self conscious. Cost me $325 and I’ve had it since December of 2019. I have more work to do before getting a more permanent replacement ❤️
I wish I passed on flipper. Wasted $800. You can’t eat with it.
Start using Fluoride free toothgel.. Fluoride is really harmful.. One thing you can do is whatever paste you use, you take transparent glass and fill it with water.. And mix the paste vigorously in it.. After some time.. If black residue forms at bottom… That means Fluoride is present…
I thought I’d use them, but I got used to the spaces. I use a night guard to hold the spaces open. I still haven’t decided what to do implant or bridge.
I couldn’t eat with the flipper. I hated the flippers and it was a waste of money.
My daughter has a flipper. She fell in school when she was younger and knocked her front tooth out. She is constantly breaking it. She is saving to get veneers.
I did
Is a great option when space would show. It’s just for when going out really. My dentist called it a “party” tooth.
Was def better than nothing.
For those that kiss …. do you wear the flipper while you’re kissing ? Any fear of it popping out in your mouth and swallowing i
