I do and it’s horrific. I get inflamed gums because food etc. get in between the gums & the posts. At the moment, I have an ongoing problem with my lower left that’s very likely infected. Went to the dentist & because I didn’t want to do another scan (had just done 2 scans within a couple of months) he wouldn’t do anything for me. I was able to get chlorhexidine from a periodontist I’d seen in the past.
It’s helped, but I have something that looks like a blister or a hard pimple on my gum and although it’s doing better it hasn’t gone away in over 3 weeks.
Rita M. Thank you. Why would a dentist go with the bar?
Annette M. ……In my case, because I suffer from jaw spasms and I think he felt the bar would be a way to provide more stability for the all on 3 that I have.
Rita M. I have the exact same problem 😭
Aoife G. …….What’s your situation, if I may ask?
Rita M. exactly the same as yours. Non stop infections. Irritated gums. I’ve the bars as well. I thought it was normal
Aoife G. ….Liked….but not really since you’re suffering too. Why did they give you a bar in the first place?
Rita M. that was what was offered. I didn’t know anything about implants. This was 6 years ago or so.
Aoife G. …..I’m sorry.
Oh man 🙁
I’m so sorry you have to go through that.
Nat R. ……Thank you! I haven’t given up yet.
This looks like a negative outcome
Diana D. too much support in the front and nothing in the back to support chewing.
Catherine G. and major inflammation plus the metal
That looks awful
There’s major concerns with the alloys used in medical/dental devices and their negative interactions with the body.
There’s also an issue with implant supported overdentures called ‘overload’.
Please do your research before you venture in.

What type of implants do you all have?
I need help….
I had my first consultation today. I was told that the Bar was his preferred method..
Now I’m a bit nervous since I was hoping for “fixed”
Nat R. go with your own decision not what the surgeon or dentist preferred method may be. We trust them but we forget hat they are trained and will recommend what the are competent in. Perhaps individual implants may be better.
Nat R. ……..Why is he recommending the bar? In my situation, a rather well-known periodontist wants to remove the bar and do fixed instead. I’ve already spent 10s of thousands of $$ and doing this new procedure is estimated around $50K.
Rita M. they said that the screws are difficult to get in and out and they often strip them which means they would need to be replaced often. They said it was $200 a screw!?
I’m definitely getting cold feet!
Nat R. ……How many are you talking about? If it were me, I would prefer exchanging the screws to having the bar.

Me, and it is very comfortable; I can eat everything.
Christian R. how long have you had it. I am scheduled to get this in June
Robin G. About three month now
Christian R. does it feel bulky
Robin G. no, in no way. Quite comfortable
