When you’re driving down the road, cars see the billboard, so you have to make it stand out. Dr. Myran suggests going down the stretch of road where you plan on putting your billboard and seeing what the other billboards are doing. He also suggests keeping the text to as little as possible, ideally seven words or less, and making sure it is legible and memorable.

He also suggests using a tracking link for your website on your billboard, but it may not be effective as people may not remember the link and just google the company name instead. He suggests an alternative: to set up a new splash page for this billboard, so if your company name is “Smile Dental Clinic,” instead of putting a long URL, you can use “SmileDentalClinic.com/Billboard” as a tracking link to check how effective your billboard is. Add a big QR code so people can just use their phone to scan the billboard and go to that specific web page right from their car!
