Insurance Financing on Oral Surgeon

I’ve managed to save $10,000 and still am 6k short. My oral surgeon won’t finance other then care credit witch won’t accept me no matter what I try. I HAVE to go to this surgeon because it’s the only one that’s in network with my all but worthless insurance. Is there ANYTHING else ANYBODY knows of that can help me. I live right outside of Saratoga springs, NY. I work 50-60 hours a week and have for kids and they talk to me like I’m crazy because I want teeth & I don’t have a trust fund. I’m really starting to lose hope. I’ll be getting custody of my 4 year old daughter soon who I haven’t seen since she was 8 months old and I don’t want her first memory of me looking the way I do know. If anyone has any ideas, please. Let me know. Thanks guys

    1. Linda L. I can’t get approved and I have know idea why. I have a 660 score. Even with my wife co signing with her 770 I can’t get approved for 8k and ALLL of our cards are paid off in full

      1. Shorty T. let your wife apply ours is in my husbands name I use it all the time , it also could be the amount I know it goes up over time years ago we got one it was for 3000

        1. We just tried to up the limit on one and they denied us because every since we paid all her debt completely off we haven’t used them at all so they don’t want to up it or give her another one cause she takes the summer off to be with the kids and I just work extra. We got about $3000 we can use but that’s about it

  1. Do you belong to a credit union? They usually are more lenient making loans or issuing credit cards.
Do you have stuff you can sell? You’d be surprised how many things we have around the house to sell.
Do you have a 401K? You can get a hardship loan.

  2. What is the reason for care credit denial? Have you looked into a personal loan or Lending club?

  3. I know it’s hard with kids but I took a part time job- just 16 hours a week at $15/hr is $800 a month. I started with paying down my debt which improved my credit- also having a higher income to report helped me get care credit. Do you have a 401k job you can take a loan from? I used a combo of all those to make it happen- it took a little time and sacrifice to get here.

    1. Jacquie M. I signed up for 401k when I started 2 1/2 years ago for just this and come to find out they never processed it so I haven’t been paying in at all so there’s nothing to take out. There’s no way I can work another job. I’m already out the house 14 hours a day and since I work 3rd my Friday isn’t until 8am Saturday

  4. Have someone put up a go fund me Maybe people would contribute a couple dollars if you get a lot of people you might get your money just an idea

  5. Try for a dental Grant i just got mine approved just google it where you live good luck

    1. Eleanor D. A cosmetic dental grant? I’ve been reading a lot about them but you’re the first person I’ve ever heard actually getting it. congrats!

      1. Erin Rae E. gotcha, I read over that part. Dental school or an office that has fees based on your income/ sliding scale fees.

  6. You don’t have to go to an in network surgeon if they aren’t going to take your insurance.

  7. I know it’s probably not what you want to hear but it’s seems like after reading all the comments all you can do is just keep saving & post pone the surgery til you have enough to pay for it or just get regular dentures. You could maybe try a go fund me but I really don’t see much people donating.
I’ve been saving money for 3 years now & still have a ways to go. If I didn’t want Implants I could get dentures for a fraction of that cost but I don’t want those. So I know in my mind it will happen once I save enough.
    Good luck.

    1. Sharla B. that’s what I’m scared of. The salt content in the well water I grew up drinking made it to where when my teeth came in there was no enamel so I’m losing bone faster then one normally would. Between bills I’d only be able to save like $100 a week and by the time I get there they say I probably won’t have enough bone to support the implants. That’s awesome tho, I can only imagine that feeling once you actually get it done

  8. The only way I was able to get it done was to get a home equity line of credit. The interest rate is super low (3%) and we have 6 months with no interest too. Not sure of your scenario with where you’re living but figured I’d put it out there.

  9. Fly to Antalya in 🇹🇷 turkey whole mouth implants £5800 flights and accommodation £1400 (pounds)

    1. Donna C. I would love to. My mom grew up in Istanbul. But….I’m a felon for a fist fight I got in when I was 17. They won’t let me get a passport

  10. have you tried having just your wife apply for the care credit since she has the higher credit score? not as a co-signer, but just her

    1. Jordan T. it denys her to. Since we completely paid her credit cards off a couple years ago we haven’t used any of them for hardly anything so even tho her scores good her history is slow. We tried to get a limit increase on her capital 1 card from $3,000 to $5,000 and they told her since she hardly uses her card anymore they don’t know if she can pay it back pretty much. Everything is just….. It’s like the perfect storm of unluckiness. My luck. I’m 29 and just got insurance for the first time in my life, like finally what I been waiting for and come to find out I could’ve just gone an paid cash this whole time cause that insurance ain’t covering jack. I just don’t get it. I work so hard, I risk my life literally everyday, do everything right since I got out of prison when I was a kid and when I go to this place I been going it’s like they want to make me feel guilty for wanting to have teeth & not having $16,000 to give them all at once. I literally have 2/3 of the money in hand. I’ve never been so close and never felt more far away 😔

      1. Shorty T.
Get yourself a passport , hop on a plan to Costa Rica…
You have done quite well , saving your money, now all you need to do is get them fixed….
I am telling you if you are trying to get it done in the states you need more money.
Out side of the states not so much.. I am not sure what Costa Rica would charge you, but I do know it’s well worth it to go.
I am going soon sometime in June. I am very particular about where I go.. but the research that I done in the last year, shows me it’s well worth it.
Cancun was my second option .
        Best of luck

  11. Do you have any teeth in your mouth at least 6 or more top and bottom I’ve been looking into pop on veneers and the cost is so much affordable than implants

    1. Cree C. that’s what I have/had now, got 6 front top when I was 15 and it gave me a nice smile but having no enamel on my teeth I found out it was really just the dentist taking advantage of the situation cause we had poor folk state insurance an it wouldn’t cover braces so he did them veneers but my teeth were just underneath still going bad. Over the years it’s get punched an lose one, get it with something an lose one, bite into something an lose one. All I got now is 2 left. After I turned 18 I had to keep paying for them to put em back on and after 2 or 3 times I was like there no use

  12. I got some semi awesome good news tho. They just called an only wanna do the top right now, all extract 4 implants snap on permanent arch $9,600! Should only be bout half that for the bottom but they don’t wanna do that for at least 6 more months so. I’m so excited. I’m getting custody of my daughter soon & I haven’t seen her since she was 9 months old. I didn’t want the first memory of her dad to be a scary one which my mouth definitely is. I wanna look like how she would remember me if she could. Thank you guys for all them suggestions and I hope y’all all get to what y’all is working for. I’m definitely gonna have some questions about the bottoms when the time comes too

      1. You guys are awesome 💯
I rarely ever ask for help or advice but this was a good experience. Thank you guys

  13. To finance mine I got a personal loan. while not the most fun there are some higher interest rate loans you can get online in a pinch

  14. i know what you mean about how they talk to ppl not rich. if you can get a so signer care credit should be okay then

  15. If you just can’t get the money now, put off the implants until later and just get the dentures now.

  16. Last one…if a family member has great credit ask them to make you an authorized user on a card they’ve had a long time. You never have to have access. Your score will jump up quickly!

Our Story

Dental Country was born out of a simple yet profound idea: to bridge the gap between dental professionals and the public by providing an all-encompassing platform for dental knowledge. Founded in 2013 by Dr. Sean Myran, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, Dental Country started as a response to the growing need for a reliable and comprehensive online resource where both dental professionals and everyday people could find trustworthy, accurate, and well-researched information about dentistry and oral health.

Dr. Myran had witnessed first-hand the complexities faced by dental professionals, from managing successful practices to staying up-to-date with the latest dental technology and products. At the same time, he noticed how challenging it was for patients to find accurate, digestible information about dental procedures, oral hygiene products, and how to choose the right dentist. This dual perspective inspired him to create Dental Country, an online space that could cater to both audiences.

What started as a small blog quickly grew into a multifaceted platform with a wide range of dental resources—from practice management tips to in-depth product reviews and educational articles on oral health. Over the years, Dental Country has expanded its offerings to meet the evolving needs of dental professionals and patients alike. Today, it is one of the most trusted names in dental content, recognized for its dedication to quality, transparency, and accessibility.

Located in Lake Forest, CA, Dental Country has reached thousands of readers across the country and continues to grow. Through collaboration with dental experts, product reviewers, and a passionate team of healthcare copywriters, Dental Country has remained committed to its mission of providing well-rounded, authoritative dental content that helps everyone—from seasoned dental practitioners to families looking to improve their oral health.

Our Approach to Dental Content

At Dental Country, we pride ourselves on a rigorous and thoughtful approach to creating dental content. Our methodology is rooted in a commitment to accuracy, transparency, and expertise, ensuring that every piece of content we publish meets the highest standards of quality. Whether we are producing an article for patients seeking information on a dental procedure or conducting an in-depth review of dental products for industry professionals, our approach remains consistent: provide reliable, actionable insights backed by research and professional experience.

Every piece of content begins with extensive research. Our team of copywriters and dental experts gather information from peer-reviewed studies, respected dental publications, and input from dental professionals. We also consult product specifications and customer feedback when reviewing dental tools, equipment, and services to provide a well-rounded view. Accuracy is our top priority, and each article is carefully fact-checked and edited to ensure it provides readers with clear, actionable, and reliable information.

We understand that dental professionals have different needs than the general public, which is why we produce tailored content for both audiences. For dentists and practice owners, we provide practice management tips, dental marketing strategies, and product reviews that are critical to their day-to-day operations. We go beyond the basics by offering detailed analyses of emerging trends and innovations in the dental industry, helping professionals stay ahead of the curve. For the public, we focus on making complex dental topics easy to understand. Our goal is to demystify dental care, empowering patients to take control of their oral health and make well-informed decisions.

What also sets Dental Country apart is our commitment to neutrality. We are unbiased in our reviews and recommendations. While we do accept sponsored content and partnerships, these are clearly disclosed, and our editorial integrity is never compromised. One of our most exciting upcoming projects is the launch of interactive features designed to improve the user experience. This includes personalized content suggestions based on individual preferences, allowing dental professionals to access the most relevant practice management tips and product reviews for their specific needs. Patients will also benefit from personalized recommendations on oral hygiene products, helping them find the best solutions for their unique dental health requirements.

In addition to content personalization, we are working to develop a community platform where dental professionals can connect, share insights, and collaborate on best practices. This network will allow for peer-to-peer learning and foster a community of shared knowledge and support, helping professionals stay updated on the latest industry trends and innovations. We envision this space as a hub for dental experts to exchange ideas and help each other succeed in a competitive and rapidly evolving field.

For patients, we are expanding our content library to include more multimedia resources like videos, infographics, and interactive guides. These resources will cover everything from understanding dental procedures to improving daily oral hygiene habits. By offering a more visual and interactive learning experience, we aim to make dental care more approachable and less intimidating for the general public.

Our long-term vision is to become the most comprehensive online platform for dental education. We aim to be the first place both dental professionals and patients turn to for trusted, up-to-date information. To support this, we are exploring partnerships with leading dental schools, healthcare organizations, and technology companies that will allow us to provide cutting-edge educational tools, research, and data-driven insights.

As we look to the future, we remain grounded in our core values: a commitment to quality, a focus on empowering our readers, and a passion for transforming the way dental information is delivered. The future of Dental Country is bright, and we look forward to continuing to serve the dental community and the public for many years to come.
