It’s not a good sign
Matthew P. it’s a healing cap not the implant
It’s certainly not a good sign.
This is my 😨 😱 fear. I would call Doctor immediately, to see if anything can be done. I hope it 🙏 works out for you.
Pat Barbour it’s probably just the healing cap that came off, they are only hand tight and can come loose. If it was the whole implant you would know. If healing cap just call dentist they will put it back on.
It’s possible just the healing cap came off. Those are only put on hand tight . Was it the whole implant or just the cap. If it’s the healing cap just call dentist and they will put back on. Sometimes you can do yourself but it may hurt a bit to do
Healing cap
Pat B. did you play it with your tongue?
Pat B. this is only the abutment they didn’t tighten it enough it happens have them torque it in sometime they don’t tighten a lot bc of swelling
Stacy L. lol I think I might have
Pat B. that what may happened, tongue is a pretty strong and normally you dentist should of told to avoid doing that as a precaution
Ahmed E. he never told me anything except see ya in ten weeks…
bulls#%t
3 weeks post op and I’m still in severe pain and even my palete feels like it peeling…im getting worried!
What year was that
Pat B. some dentist think you can read their mind, anyways if I were I will go back to see him/her first because of the implant, and second because of the pain, 3 weeks you should be pain free.i am sorry things are not going as expected. Make sure to ask questions about everything when you see your dr again, even if you have to take notes of every detail just to make sure you do not miss anything
Ahmed E. he just rushes me out
Pat B. most of them do that, keep him busy with questions about everything you need to know
Right
Yea! The sign is you went to a bad doctor! That he shouldn’t be doing implants!
Serg L. not true. This could have easily been placed in a spot that just couldn’t hold the implant. It happened to me and I have a fantastic dentist.
Let me ask ! Why your fantastic dentist place an implant in a spot that Doesn’t hold it ???
Well what ever the story is ! It should be visible and well detailed on a 3D scan and on a very detailed bone assessment! And a good experienced oral surgeon “ he or she “ should place a solid implant for long long years to come and not to last only 2 weeks
Serg L. its not the implant that fell out. The healing cap. Its very clear you dont know much about these things. None has 100 percent success rate. Not even the best.
I have 10 implants placed 16 years ago with no problem at all ! I do have 100 percent success rate because I did lots research and picked one of the best in the business even all my healing caps didn’t fall out. Good luck to you
Obviously lol
One reason I would never travel far or out of the country is for work done! I have a great team…dentist and periodontist.
I had this happen, but it wasn’t even 3 weeks. They just replaced the implant. It was originally put in a bad spot and couldn’t grip onto anything.
LaRissa K. did it look like that
Pat B. no, mine was the entire implant.
and how is it now..
Pat B. they replaced it and everything has been fine for me ☺️
LaRissa K. thank you. How soon after you had then done could you eat something alittle harder than soft food
Pat B. not long at all, maybe a few days. however I have a really high pain threshold where some others do not.
LaRissa K. I absolutely do not have any!!!!
Did the whole implant fall out or the abutment?
Stacy L. it looks like the healing cap
Pat B. send a pic
Stacy L. are we in pm
Pat B. I seen it it’s the healing cap
Healing caps gets loose quite easily. Brushing, tongue being curious about it. Nothing to fear. Healing caps are used for shaping up gum perfectly. Just tell your dentist you want a closing screw. Gum will cover over the implant while osseointegration phase and your dentist will need to make an incision to uncover it but its better than swallowing titanium.
Merve A. will it hurt again
Pat B. under local anesthesia, it wont. We cant tighten healing caps as much as we would like, that would rotate the implant too. Its harmless. Just go to your dentist and get it fixed.
Merve A.👌skrden
That is not implant — it is a healing screw that needs to be screwed back on — hopefully a screw part is still working otherwise you have to replace the whole implant — might have been a defective implant — wishing you the best.
Catherine G. not necessarily everyone told me that. When I went to the surgeon he said yep its the implant
Melissa V. so what is your plan now?
Catherine G. going to try again 🙄
Melissa V. Are you seeing the same doctor?
Catherine G. yes
Melissa V. Good Luck and I hope the implant takes.
Catherine G. Thank you so much! I’m quite tired of it all but we will give it a second try 🙂
Please don’t say this….I’m about to spend every penny I own ….I.dont want failure
Deborah W. it’s not a failure it’s only the abutment (healing cap) that fell off
Deborah W. tell me about it…I already spent mine
Perhaps not enough bone to support.
I wish
What you think??
It likely means a bad dentist.
Poor thing
