My father, whom I have always looked up to, was a dentist. He was a caregiver and helped others through his work and I was drawn to do the same. That said, I excelled at math in high school and also got into computers. Once at college, I was directed to engineering and I graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree.
I enjoyed the math and science associated with engineering and worked in the field for six years, but found myself drawn to dentistry. I returned to school, completed my dental and orthodontics degrees.
Being an orthodontist is the perfect blend of science, engineering, healthcare, and art. It brings all these together and allows me to change people’s lives.
I love creating functional, healthy, and beautiful smiles for each of my patients. Every day I see my patients change, moving from feeling self-conscious about their appearance to gaining confidence. Watching someone’s personality light up, when treatment is finished and they see what we’ve accomplished, is thrilling to me.
