Dr. Jan Miesel earned her dental degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in 1996. After completing a one-year general practice residency in the U.S. Navy, she provided general dentistry care aboard the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier for two years. Having fulfilled her military service, Dr. Miesel entered into her periodontal residency at the University of Washington , from which she graduated in 2002. She has been in private practice since then, and has participated in a multi-disciplinary study club in Mt. Vernon.
Dr. Miesel performs all types of periodontal treatment , including treatment of periodontal infections, crown lengthening, dental implant placement, soft tissue grafts , ridge augmentation, esthetic gingival recontouring, and orthodontic exposures. She is also certified to administer various sedation methods for patient comfort, including IV sedation. Her professionalism, caring demeanor, and attention to detail have contributed to patient and referring dentist satisfaction.
