About us
When I was a teenager, my teeth were a mess! I was given the gift of a nice smile from my orthodontist who made the process enjoyable as well. That is when I decided to be an orthodontist and share the same gift I was given. It must be working, as I now have several former patients who are now in dental school.
I received a Bachelor of Science in the honors program at the University of Alabama and attended the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, where I earned a Master of Science in orthodontics. I was the first resident ever at the School of Dentistry to be awarded a grant from the National Institutes of Health to pursue research while in residency.
I also spent an additional year completing an oral and maxillofacial surgical fellowship. During this time, I lectured nationally and internationally on my research and was recognized by the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as the most significant researcher of the year.
Soon after setting up private practice in Birmingham, I was accepted in a two-year program along with a select number of leading orthodontists from around the world to continue my studies in functional occlusion at the Roth Williams Center in California. Of course, education never stops if you want to be the best. I currently attend many hours of continuing education every year to evaluate new technology and treatment options to benefit my patients.
