Dr. David W. Engen, DDS, MSD is one of only FIVE board certified periodontists in the inland northwest. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Neurobiology from Purdue University and his Master of Science degree in Physiology and Biophysics from Indiana University prior to earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Indiana University School of Dentistry. He received specialty training in both Periodontics and Orthodontics, making him one of a handful of specialists in the country to hold both specialties. He received the Master of Science in Dentistry degree along with his specialty credentials. Dr. Engen has served as a clinical instructor in both the Department of Periodontics and Department of Orthodontics at Indiana University. Dr. Engen is an active member in the American Academy of Periodontology, American Association of Orthodontics, Washington State Society of Orthodontics, American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, the Spokane District Dental Society, and is the director of the Spokane Study Club. Dr. Engen is a co-founder of the Inland Northwest Dental Hygiene Study Club which holds the title for the largest dental hygiene study club in the nation.
