Our Vision for the Future
As Dental Country continues to grow, we remain deeply committed to expanding our platform in ways that meet the changing needs of our audience. Dentistry is a dynamic field, with new technologies, techniques, and products emerging every year. We believe in staying at the forefront of these changes, ensuring that our content not only keeps up but also leads the way in educating our readers.
In the near future, we plan to introduce even more innovative tools and resources for both dental professionals and patients. One of our most exciting upcoming projects is the launch of interactive features designed to improve the user experience. This includes personalized content suggestions based on individual preferences, allowing dental professionals to access the most relevant practice management tips and product reviews for their specific needs. Patients will also benefit from personalized recommendations on oral hygiene products, helping them find the best solutions for their unique dental health requirements.
In addition to content personalization, we are working to develop a community platform where dental professionals can connect, share insights, and collaborate on best practices. This network will allow for peer-to-peer learning and foster a community of shared knowledge and support, helping professionals stay updated on the latest industry trends and innovations. We envision this space as a hub for dental experts to exchange ideas and help each other succeed in a competitive and rapidly evolving field.
For patients, we are expanding our content library to include more multimedia resources like videos, infographics, and interactive guides. These resources will cover everything from understanding dental procedures to improving daily oral hygiene habits. By offering a more visual and interactive learning experience, we aim to make dental care more approachable and less intimidating for the general public.
Our long-term vision is to become the most comprehensive online platform for dental education. We aim to be the first place both dental professionals and patients turn to for trusted, up-to-date information. To support this, we are exploring partnerships with leading dental schools, healthcare organizations, and technology companies that will allow us to provide cutting-edge educational tools, research, and data-driven insights.
As we look to the future, we remain grounded in our core values: a commitment to quality, a focus on empowering our readers, and a passion for transforming the way dental information is delivered. The future of Dental Country is bright, and we look forward to continuing to serve the dental community and the public for many years to come.

Aptertx has one time cost. Forgot how much. Renaissance $59 a month
I thought you were on OD already!
Apteryx (they have local and cloud based options), DentalXchange for claims/attachments
Dexis, DentalXchange/snipping tool, DentalXchange
Apteryx, ClaimX by Extradent , Vine/NEA
I read Open dental ver 20.5 would have imaging software. If possible wait for Imaging software.
So I happen to be running the beta… Looked into this just now… It looks possible. I’ll run a test and see how it goes aquiring and let you know!
Greg H. so basically it looks like they have an acquire button that they put in that will open the Twain driver for whatever device you are acquiring with. From there it’ll import into the folder that you have selected in the “images” module (which we currently just use for like patient forms and referral slips/letters from specialists scanned in, etc). There is a thing to choose mounts (assuming this is like for a series of x-rays but haven’t had an x-ray set to try it yet). Gonna have a Hygienist leave a set for me to scan in this afternoon to try it out.
I don’t think this is something I will change to after already having apteryx but could be a great option to start fresh on. Not sure how your current dexis images would transfer over.
Jack S. Cool, thanks for the info. I’m interested to hear how it turns out. It would be nice to not have to get a second/separate software for imaging.
Okay so finally got around to it. Had to create a couple templates (took all of 15 seconds to set up), and had to tell it where to acquire from (also only took 20-30 seconds). These settings stay with the computer and you can tell it to be on the whole system or computer specific (I imagine this would be useful for a pano computer to have different settings default).
They imported super easily and the interface to view them is just as good as anything else. Really do think it is a good option to use. (Remember this is in 20.5 only so far which is in Beta).
Vatech, dental xchange it merges well with OD no need for attachment software.
Apetryx, Dentalxchange, Attachments are done through open dental software.
We did this over COVID shut down. Use XDR for imaging and had them convert. Use dental xchange for eligibility/claims and Trojan for breakdown (on the rec’d of our OD trainer/consultant)
Vixwin & EDS from claims and attachments
EzDenti and EzDent3Di (Vatech Pan and CT). Dentalxchange ( attachments and Electronic claims)
Open dental is amazing!!! We use dexis and dentalxchange
1) Apteryx. Conversion was like $800. I just renewed for 1k? I don’t think you have to pay renewal.
2) DentalXchange. Also used for EOM auto statements and ins verification. 150-175/mo
3) see 2
Other cost to consider at least at first is OD support. $119/mo… and then whatever you use for e-services like texting, etc.
