Horrible Time with Temps

Has anybody else had a HORRIBLE time with their temps? Im only doing an upper snap in bc my bottoms are great but I’m almost 6 weeks out past my Eday now and my top temp looks AWFUL! Huge overbite, all gums showing, just ugly. I went and had a lip lift and fillers so that you can’t tell that I don’t have my top teeth when I’m soft smiling. I refuse to wear them. It’s just so frustrating.

    1. Joan B. my next appt is in another week, I’m just going to wait until then and see what they’ll do.

      1. Katie D. As much as I did not want to hear it, this takes time. As I healed my dentures needed many adjustments and relines to keep them looking and fitting great.

    1. Tammy Jo G. September will be my 4 locator implant placements then 6 months of healing. It’ll be next year before they uncover and do the abutments.

      1. Katie D. I would demand a new set of temps that you can wear. Sorry your having issues. 🙏🙏

      1. Katie D. I wish I could see what your teeth look like now. Nonetheless I didn’t have what you had done but I did have an all on 4 dental implant surgery, which means I had all of my teeth removed and had a full set of implants on top and bottom. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I had to have “this place” adjust my temps. You’re paying them a lot of money for perfection, therefore you should be a little less passive and speak up about how you’re feeling bc once those permanents go in you’d wished you would’ve. I almost made that mistake. Way too much gums AND teeth showing amongst other things wrong with my temps if I hadn’t spoken up. Good luck beautiful,🤞🍀

        1. Cindy B. now as in my top gums with my natural bottoms or of me trying to fit my temps in? I can take a pic and show you.

  1. This is a picture from today of me and my son. I don’t have my top piece in. I choose not to wear it.

    1. Ok, got to ask, what product was used on your lips! I have got to do something. I am much older and have barely any lips now.

      1. Diana T. I made an appointment with my esthetician and had a lip flip done and fillers placed in top and bottom. I also use a lip plumping serum over top.

      1. Tina M. a lip flip is 4 cosmetic options injections right above your upper lip to pull it upward a tad for a subtle fuller look while giving you more lip to cover any gum showing when you smile. Then the filler is added (about 30-50 injections of filler into your lips) for the plump look.

        1. Katie D. was it expensive? My life is a wreck because of my teeth! Had a massive infection due to a pituitary brain tumor. So they took my teeth to be safe. My poor lips look so thin now 😢

      2. Tina M. it can be bc it’s not a 1 time thing so here’s what I suggest. For you to try the process once or twice to see if you like it first. Also prices vary according to locations and offices. The flip is $200 and lasts about 6 weeks and the Lip fillers are $675 and they last about 10 months. There’s a cosmetic outpatient procedure called lip augmentation, where they take some of your fat from your body and place it into your lips. The surgery varies from 2k-4k That’s permanent. So it makes more sense to me to do the surgery rather than paying the amount for fillers and lips periodically. In the long haul, the surgery saves you tons of lifelong money.

          1. Diana T. yeah. If you choose the surgery, you’ll have to contact a cosmetic plastic surgeon that’ll perform that but an Esthetician gives you the flip and fillers and that doesn’t require anesthesia. They’re a separate entity/business.

  2. I had a similar situation and wouldn’t leave the dentist with them in. They are remaking them
My upper lip wouldn’t cover my teeth. Now I’m waiting. I hope they can redo yours. I never thought I’d like my denture better. You are beautiful.

    1. Helena V. thank you. That’s the exact same issue that I’m having.. a protruding top where my teeth just jut out. My lip won’t cover mine either. They’re gna have to redo them asap for sure.

  3. Judy P. my top denture temp. They’re awful. Huge overbite and they jut out with all gums. That’s why I did my lips. I don’t have any top teeth. Im not wearing my temp, I refuse.

    1. I need some teeth repaired but don’t know who to go to and oh my goodness they are sooo expensive. I sure hope you get it all the way you want it.

  4. Katie,do you use adhesive on your bottom dentures..Usually it’s the bottom that gives people trouble..Sorry about the time you’re having with your uppers..They will get it solved!

    1. Randy B. I have my natural teeth still for my bottoms. Im keeping them as they are straight and I have no issues with my bottoms, only my tops.

      1. Katie D., Okay, I got you.. I’m getting a partial for my bottoms and a complete set of dentures, for my top.. I just hope I don’t have bone loss where my mouth sinks in

      1. Katie D., wow…. Well,I’ve only got a budget of 18k.. It’s going to cost me 6k for the extractions.. I’m going to be sedated…Then, I have to choose regular dentures or snap ins on top(if I can swing it financially)..

    2. Randy B. I kind of played the system or else I wouldn’t be able to do it either. My family was denied govt assistance or aid due to over income qualifications or whatever but when I became pregnant, for whatever reason, I was able to pick up state insurance as my secondary insurance for the duration of my pregnancy and for 6 months post partom before it drops. I made to sure to get in to get my first surgery scheduled and over with bc the state insurance covered all extractions and the anesthesia which saved me a lot. Unfortunately, I’ll be dropped from it come September when my next surgery is scheduled, but glad I got in what I could at least lol. 🤷🏻‍♀️

      1. Katie D., yeah I’m in the middle of an appeal process, where I’m trying to get my state insurance to cover my extractions.. For whatever reason, they won’t cover dental, unless there underlining health issues.. Some states cover these things and others don’t.. Good for you, though..

  5. Katie D. I wouldn’t call that gaming the system. Pregnancy is often among the eligibility criteria for Medicaid.

    1. Rachel J. I just meant the way I got it in. Im about to be dropped off of it. She’s about to be 5 months. I HV until she’s 6 months 😩

  6. Can you go back and get better temps? Part of the service is the temps, it’s not right for them to just let you suffer through them. I haven’t done mine yet but my dentist seemed very concerned about making sure the temps were a good fit while I needed them and also offered them for free as a discount for the service.

    1. Alexandra D. I’ll be going back next week to my scheduled appt and I’ll be very adamant about them fixing it. My dentist is a separate cost bc I had to go to an oral surgeon for my stuff outside of temps and my future perms.

  7. I am so Damn fed up. I have top and bottom all on 6. 15 minutes out the door with my permanent teeth I bit into a dunkin donut. A chocolate donut and a tooth broke. I went straight back to the office. It was fixed and I was on my way. Four more teeth have left broken since. I’ve had the Temps in for two months. When I call the office I get one excuse after another. 42K for the surgeon to remove teeth and place the implants. 18K to the prosthodontist. I am ready to sue. Any thoughts?

    1. Phil S. since they’re temps I’m not sure the extent of the trouble that it’d be worth. If you gained anything, it’d probably be for emotional damage and temporary pain bc these aren’t your permanents. I’d still look into it though and in the mean time stay on their ass constantly.

    1. Lindsay H. yeah, well, u don’t think I’ve tried that numerous times 🤦🏻‍♀️? If it were that simple that’d already have been done the first time I went back.

  8. Yes! Excruciating pain. What are you using for relief? At the moment I’m using the new NanoHead massager (this one https://nanoheadofficial.com/…/nanohead%C2%AE-nanotech…) and I’m experiencing great relief. Hope it will help you too Katie🙏🏻

    1. Alberto N. I’m doing a lot better today thankfully. Still can’t get temps in but I have my appt tomorrow!

Our Story

Dental Country was born out of a simple yet profound idea: to bridge the gap between dental professionals and the public by providing an all-encompassing platform for dental knowledge. Founded in 2013 by Dr. Sean Myran, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, Dental Country started as a response to the growing need for a reliable and comprehensive online resource where both dental professionals and everyday people could find trustworthy, accurate, and well-researched information about dentistry and oral health.

Dr. Myran had witnessed first-hand the complexities faced by dental professionals, from managing successful practices to staying up-to-date with the latest dental technology and products. At the same time, he noticed how challenging it was for patients to find accurate, digestible information about dental procedures, oral hygiene products, and how to choose the right dentist. This dual perspective inspired him to create Dental Country, an online space that could cater to both audiences.

What started as a small blog quickly grew into a multifaceted platform with a wide range of dental resources—from practice management tips to in-depth product reviews and educational articles on oral health. Over the years, Dental Country has expanded its offerings to meet the evolving needs of dental professionals and patients alike. Today, it is one of the most trusted names in dental content, recognized for its dedication to quality, transparency, and accessibility.

Located in Lake Forest, CA, Dental Country has reached thousands of readers across the country and continues to grow. Through collaboration with dental experts, product reviewers, and a passionate team of healthcare copywriters, Dental Country has remained committed to its mission of providing well-rounded, authoritative dental content that helps everyone—from seasoned dental practitioners to families looking to improve their oral health.

Whether we are producing an article for patients seeking information on a dental procedure or conducting an in-depth review of dental products for industry professionals, our approach remains consistent: provide reliable, actionable insights backed by research and professional experience.

Every piece of content begins with extensive research. Our team of copywriters and dental experts gather information from peer-reviewed studies, respected dental publications, and input from dental professionals. We also consult product specifications and customer feedback when reviewing dental tools, equipment, and services to provide a well-rounded view. Accuracy is our top priority, and each article is carefully fact-checked and edited to ensure it provides readers with clear, actionable, and reliable information.

We understand that dental professionals have different needs than the general public, which is why we produce tailored content for both audiences. For dentists and practice owners, we provide practice management tips, dental marketing strategies, and product reviews that are critical to their day-to-day operations. We go beyond the basics by offering detailed analyses of emerging trends and innovations in the dental industry, helping professionals stay ahead of the curve. For the public, we focus on making complex dental topics easy to understand. Our goal is to demystify dental care, empowering patients to take control of their oral health and make well-informed decisions.

We believe in staying at the forefront of these changes, ensuring that our content not only keeps up but also leads the way in educating our readers.

In the near future, we plan to introduce even more innovative tools and resources for both dental professionals and patients. One of our most exciting upcoming projects is the launch of interactive features designed to improve the user experience. This includes personalized content suggestions based on individual preferences, allowing dental professionals to access the most relevant practice management tips and product reviews for their specific needs. Patients will also benefit from personalized recommendations on oral hygiene products, helping them find the best solutions for their unique dental health requirements.

In addition to content personalization, we are working to develop a community platform where dental professionals can connect, share insights, and collaborate on best practices. This network will allow for peer-to-peer learning and foster a community of shared knowledge and support, helping professionals stay updated on the latest industry trends and innovations. We envision this space as a hub for dental experts to exchange ideas and help each other succeed in a competitive and rapidly evolving field.

For patients, we are expanding our content library to include more multimedia resources like videos, infographics, and interactive guides. These resources will cover everything from understanding dental procedures to improving daily oral hygiene habits. By offering a more visual and interactive learning experience, we aim to make dental care more approachable and less intimidating for the general public.

Our long-term vision is to become the most comprehensive online platform for dental education. We aim to be the first place both dental professionals and patients turn to for trusted, up-to-date information. To support this, we are exploring partnerships with leading dental schools, healthcare organizations, and technology companies that will allow us to provide cutting-edge educational tools, research, and data-driven insights.

As we look to the future, we remain grounded in our core values: a commitment to quality, a focus on empowering our readers, and a passion for transforming the way dental information is delivered. The future of Dental Country is bright, and we look forward to continuing to serve the dental community and the public for many years to come.
