Hello again! As I navigate through day 6, I’m struggling really bad. My surgery recovery has been great but I have a problem and I don’t know what to do. I have come to the conclusion that my upper arch iis way too small. I feel like my tongue is stuffed in a shoe 2 sizes to small. When resting, my back molars sit on my tongue, when I talk I basically bite my tongue. My tongue is wider than my arch/palate. Needless to say, my tongue hurts, the roof of my mouth where it attaches, is soooo sore and puffy. I truly feel I have someone else’s teeth in my mouth. The bottom feels great and no problem at all.
I have said from the minute they put the top arch on it didn’t feel right. I went back Thursday for this reason and explained that I couldn’t chew a noodle, felt like the back molars were huge and explained about teeth hitting my tongue. They grinded them, which helped and said nothing was wrong it was just a learning curve to be patient. I thought it was me and have spent the last few days trying to be patient and adapt but the more I try the more I just feel something is wrong. My tongue hurts, my palate hurts more and more everyday. The feeling is getting worse instead of better. My healing from the surgery seems great, swelling is good and Brusing is slightly better. I am pleased with recovery I feel somewhat panicked over this feeling of my crowded tongue and palate.
I hate to complain and I really am trying to adapt but really starting to feel that it is not a matter of adapting as much as something is wrong. Of coarse it’s the weekend so I think I’m stuck till Monday but even then I am not sure what to do. Any advise is welcomed! Thank you all for being supportive!

Hi sorry your struggling if your not happy keep on at them if you want to borrow my ears I’m a good listener I’m sure it should be settling by now best wishes 😊
Marian S. thank you! I hate more than anything to complain. I mean I have gone through the surgery with flying colors. I just feel like something is wrong and I’m being brushed off as a winer when I am not a winer at all.
Tammy J. I understand don’t be fobbed off it seems to be life nowadays if you are suffering you would not make it up it is causing you distress otherwise you would not be saying. Keep talking tell them you want it changing you are paying for this service keep in touch let me know how you go don’t let them intimidate you big hug 🤗
They’ve got to get it right! Hassle them even if that’s hard!
Lindsay H. ^THIS. A Thousand times this.
Once you let them call it “done”, they will wipe their hands of the consequences and ask you to open your juicy wallet again.
Complain, complain, complain. This is your right and if it does not fit (trust your gut), they must make you another. You are paying big dollars for this and deserve the right fit. Trust you!
Show some good photos. Maybe you can then get some pertinent advise.
Cary G. I tried to take a picture.
Ooh lady I’m so sorry your having issues,. I’m still very sore where my upper arch meets my pallet. It hurts to brush there even with a baby toothbrush.
And the fact that my arches are bulky males my mouth feel strange but it doesn’t bite in my tongue..
If your not happy absolutely go back . It’s your right to.. your the customer, and always remember you are paying for this, discomfort wasn’t in their plan. Xxxx
Hope they fix you soon so you can be comfortable

Nikki R. when I talk my teeth hit my tongue, when I’m relaxed they sit on my tongue. My tongue hurts so bad and my palate where the arch attaches is so swollen and getting worse everyday. I feel like it’s just 2 sizes too small. The bottom feels great. It’s squeezing the the roof of my mouth a lot of pressure and it’s constant pain, If it wasn’t for this I would feel great and could probably even eat something soft but they just don’t seem to feel right. I’m troubled because I have said from the minute they put the tops one on it didn’t feel right.
I get it’s different and it will feel bulky or weird but this is down right feels like I have somebody else’s teeth in my mouth.I’m worried about the swelling and intense pressure messing up my implants. 🙏
It’s hard to take of picture of what I’m talking about. The roof of my mouth where the implant attached is pinched by the arch and swollen. My teeth rest on my tongue. I feel the arch of teeth is too narrow. The roof of my mouth and my tongue are so sore, worse than any of the surgery sites.
Sounds like you need a rebase on the denture. My dentist sees me once a week for a month, then every two weeks, then once a month. She does a rebase every time. Each time the fir gets better. If I am in pain she make adjustments. Good luck
Is this a temporary arch?
Holley S. yes
Tammy J. how long before you get your other arch?
Holley S. I just had surgery last Monday and these placed wed so 2 months or so!
Complain and insist on getting this right.
Where did you go in the state or out…it’s a shame you are going through this … best of luck with hopes of resolving
Carol S. I’m in Florida and he is local but I have not been able to reach him all weekend and the swelling on the roof of my mouth is bad. Bleeding it’s cutting into me so bad. 🙏🙏
Tammy J. go to the Urgent care or ER
Tammy J. this also was me. My mouth swelled so bad it felt like the arches were too tight. I went in after 1 week and it is normal. It honestly took about a month before all the swelling was down and things settled in. It’s major surgery you need to give it some time. I would ask for the lidocaine rinse it really did help.
Michelle T. my swelling from surgery is down considerably, this is getting worse by the minute. This bubble on the roof of my mouth is horrible and I can feel the pressure of blood trying to flow through. Hoping they can do something to help me tomorrow. This is worse than the surgery my far!
Tammy J. good luck!! My soft tissue pain from my lips cracking and biting my tongue and cheeks was far worse than any surgery pain. In all my research on the “groups” o body really talked about it. I was freaking out and called the doctor who got me right in and told me it was all normal. It was much better when I went for my 2 week check but still painful. This definitely isn’t easy.
I have the same issue. They also shaved mine down but not enough. These are temps and in July when I start working on my perms they said they will take the temps out and shave more off but due to healing they won’t remove them sooner. I’ve gotten a lot better but the first month was terrible with biting my tongue and cheeks. My mouth was tore up and those bitten spots were excruciating. The doctor prescribed me a lidocaine rinse and that really helped. I am told my permanent arches will not be as bulky 🙏
Michelle T. I have a big bubble on the roof of my mouth and can feel my pulse of the blood trying to flow through. Everything from the surgery feels fine except that. It’s horrible! 🙏🙏 I hope they can do something
