Dental implant is an artificial replacement for the roots of a tooth that is lost. Hence the function of a dental implant is to support a crown, bridge or sometimes a denture.

Most dental implants today are mostly made out of Titanium. They are usually shaped similar to a screw to create more contact surface with bone.

The process of placing an implant usually involves:
1.  Exam and diagnosis
2.  Radiographic and MRI examinations
3.  Treatment planning
4.  Surgical placement of the implant/implants
5.  Healing time for implant/bone integration
6.  Restoration of the implants
